Mount Morris Fighting Fund -Farmers fightback against Banks

Due to the overwhelming world wide response to bank foreclosures on Australia Farming Fraternity, a fighting fund committee has been established.

Time for action folks: ANY amount is greatly appreciated to help with the fighting fund to take on the bank and expose the preditory and unethical banking methods. It just so happened that the bank picked the wrong people to deal with. We will NOT let them treat generational graziers, men, women and children in this manner! Come on AUSTRALIA! Time to stick up for our own!

  • Welcome to the "Join the Mt Morris Fighting Fund Community".

As the short description for this page succinctly states,

"Due to the overwhelming world wide response to bank foreclosures on Australia Farming Fraternity, a fighting fund committee has been established."

The right to be able to challenge those who move towards repossession is thwarted with obstacles for the Family Farmer.

Access to legal representation that is affordable is as the saying goes " justice is what one can afford". Farmers, once in the position of dispossession have little, if any funds available to them.
However does this mean, that they are not entitled to justice? No, it does not.

Here is the crossroads and why this committee have elected to put out the call for "Warriors" to now step forward and ensure that justice can be achieved by way of quality legal representation.

The important factor for this committee is that criteria of each Farmer at least has the opportunity to be heard, to have the best possible representation as Farmers do have rights.

Quite often, Farmers have been subjected over a number of years, predatory banking practices.

These may include, misleading statements, verbal undertakings, contractual misrepresentations and indeed some falsified documents.

The Farmers believe that they have no rights, and no recourse as these sentiments are reiterated many times to them by their Banking representatives.

Farmers succumb to depression, family breakdown, and suicides due to pressures brought to bare.

    This can be changed.

Improve and hold accountable Financial Institutions and challenge them, with quality legal representation. Making certain that predatory banking practices will not go unchecked, these institutions will be made to answer for their actions.

The catalyst for this committee to raise funds was the outrage of those who followed a quite little site called, "A History of Mount Morris Station Charleville Queensland" in Australia.

The owners, Mark and Cate Stuart purchased the Station in 2008. They are though people of the land for generations, one side of the family in excess of 145 years on the same land.

They saw an opportunity to share the station, "Mt Morris" Station, Charleville, Queensland, with others by using social media such as Facebook to share the countless treasures on the land they chose to call home.

The Historic Station, and these Generational Graziers complimented each other to a level that many families on the land relate to.

The popularity of the site grew. The family then set about with showing Station life by introducing their Youtube channel "Mt Morris Charleville" with many and varied clips of their guests to the station, cattle work, and their family.

Ever so slowly, the posts on their site changed. Members of their facebook group sensed that something was not quite "right" with these ordinary Australian family, and the members concerns were well founded.

Membership for their site and the huge response from other Farming and Grazing families, National and International support almost doubled over night for their site.

The catalyst of this? News that the family was going to be evicted from their home, a viable home.
The committee recognises that here, with this family with so much support with words of encouragement there is need for this family to set a precedent, by challenging the right to return to the home legally.

The committee recognises that while this is one family of potentially thousands, and most certainly hundreds, this family has the ability to not only challenge for their rights, but for others rights by way of setting a precedent.
To open "doors" for other families in Australia to have quality legal representation and finally have justice served, not reserved for their financiers benefits which appears to be so wide spread.

And what is the benefit for everyday Australians in more densely populated areas? The answer is simple.
Food security, land security, Australia's much publicised people of the land, will morph into "companies of the land". A tradition, of justice for the underdog no matter where they live, will survive if justice is afforded to Australian Farming Families.

These farming families are "Australia's hidden sweatshops in the Outback" and then they are displaced and replaced.

Please bring this to an end, support this fund, and this family to start the beginning of the end for predatory banking practices.
Australian farmers futures are in your hands, while your hands hold the food they sustain you with...please consider this cause and give generously.
